Post subject:  Equipment & Max Hit Calculator

The Equipment & Max Hit Calculator is a new tool available on our website for finding the best equipment to use within RuneScape. It is the first of many utilities to come using data collected by the Content Crew. At the moment there are over 2500 equipment items that will appear in the drop downs to select from. We can't call the lists completely done yet but we believe we have complete info for all nearly all items that give stats and are mostly only missing cosmetic items or harder to get items that we will continue to add.

Special thanks to Davo, Jasonmrc, Jay, Shwa, and Warren for the massive amount of time they put in collecting information for the item database that this utility pulls from. Past Content Crew members and members of the community are also deserving of a mention in collecting information for some items. Full item credits can be found along with the other individual item information on the calculator.

If anyone notices anything we are missing (and has the correct data themselves) from the equipment calculator or notices any problems, please post on this thread and we will have it fixed or added. In the future, we will have a better solution for submitting corrections.

Along with this release, we are removing the Items, NPCs, and Dungeon maps forums and changing the category to be called Community Guides. Any data in these forums has already been used or will be used for coming content on the site, and these forums were not very useful to anyone. Rules on the remaining forums have been relaxed to follow existing community rules.

The next utility release can be expected within the next couple months as we our accelerating our releases now that we have a big foundation to draw from. At some point in the future, we will also be taking applications for content crew volunteers since the amount of work is quite tough for such a small team. Jagex's new website and wiki will not affect the plans for our site.

Saw this post so I decided to check out the new calculator, and I must say the whole thing is very nice. Couple things I noticed right away was that the slayer helmet (and the pieces that make up it) aren't there. I also noticed that modified items, whether they be colored from a minigame or poisoned, where there multiple times even though they don't need to be and just take up more space. Just what I noticed right away and I'll continue to look at it but I would still like to compliment how nice it looks.

Both the slayer helmet and the full slayer helmet show up on mine :?

If anyone is wondering "this took 3 1/2 years to collect the data of?? I expected more", while there was lots of downtime, actual progress to the data for this specific thing didn't start until September. Not that I want to raise higher expectations because then you'll just be disappointed more.

And RG dw it doesn't have an image yet.


Of multiple versions of items, some people might want to distinguish what version their item is when saving and sharing their load outs. For poisoned, the poison might actually factor into the maximum dps calculation, but I don't know. Alch and GE values could differ from item to item too. Maybe options to filter them out if taking up space is a problem though, but imo they should still be there.
And speaking of that, are you sure you didn't do something that would filter out the slayer helmet and pieces to it? XD It's there for me too.

After looking closer I did find the slayer helm, I just wasn't expecting it to have no Slayer Level Requirement.

Awesome. This is going to be a really useful tool for a lot of people. Glad you guys finally put it together and got it out there. Now for the bugs. :P

This is a great step for RSBandB. I am really glad to see this coming out. I know Jasonmrc (At least I believe so) has been working with the Max Hit calculator for an extensive amount of time. Great job everybody that has put effort into this. :)

Very nice! Been messing around with it fr a bit now. Can't complain and I have to say that I like this equipment builder and max hit calculator better than all of the other ones I've used in the past.

Just a couple thing that I would like to point out...
1) The image icon for salve amulet (e) is missing for me (I know... it's not a big deal and I actually could care less. Just thought I would mention it)
2) The salve amulet salve amulet (e) bonus strength and attack against undead do not seem to be included (Maybe they are included automatically, but I switched from a fury to a salve amulet (e) and it dropped my max hit so that is what made me suspect this)

Other than that I really like it and will be putting it to use when ever i play.

Few things that I've wanted to add that are missing:

1) Broad Bolts
2) Tokkul-zo (from the Elder Kiln Quest)

I can provide the stats/pictures for them if you like :)

That would be great if you could give stats and a picture for the ring. I have yet to do the quest.

I'll take care of the bolts when I can get on to get some.
