BOSS TAKEDOWN

RSBandB Tackles Some Of Gielinor's Toughest Bosses

What Is Boss Takedown?
Boss Takedown is a re-occurring event here at RSBANDB where we all go out and kill a certain boss. The topic here will be updated often on the next dates as well as polls for the next boss to fight. There will be any pictures or video that we take, and posts of great drops we get.

Do I Need Anything To Go?

Due to the danger of the event, a combat level of at least 90 is recommended but not required. As well, good armor and supplies will be key to battling these bosses. Occaisonally, pictures of gear and inventory will be posted for the respective boss fight.

How Will Drops Be Distributed?

The team at the boss will be in MY FRIENDS CHAT which is Jer99. We will always kill a boss in a Lootshare World, and have Coinshare turned on. This means that we will share loot with eachother, and any high-value drops will have a coin amount evenly distributed between all of our team killing the boss.

NEXT BOSS: to be decided
WHEN:Saturday, May 26th, 2012 @ 8pm Eastern time
WORLD: 46, subject to change
WHERE TO MEET: Edgeville

Look At These Drops!

A Batch of New Things

posted by Shane on 1 May 2012 at 18:18

Another month has gone and we've got a huge selection of new reading material and other things for your review.

We've got coverage on both sides of April's Squeal of Fortune update. Tim discussed the positives of purchasable spins. On the other side of the argument Jason coined his own term for SoF: Squeal of Failtune. Then later in the month I discussed the morality of purchasable spins. Alex talked about waiting for day the promises made in the monthly Behind the Scenes articles come true. Finally, our newest writer (JasonC, I will introduce him shortly) answered a question he got asked, "Why do I play RuneScape?"

As I mentioned we have a new RuneScape writer. His name is Jason and we're happy to have him with us. Join me in giving him a warm welcome to the Informer crew! He will be identified as JasonC on the Informer website as we now have two Jason's on staff.

The April Defence Skill of The Month wrapped up with a commendable amount of experience. Marking22 took the win with roughly 4.7m experience gained, Addiv took second with 3.5m, and Thelion777 took third with 1.6m experience.

This marks Marking's second consecutive win, congratulations!

Finally, I'd like to point you to a new type of signature that we released this month. For those of you who are active on RuneScape and enjoy promoting your stats you probably have seen our new Personal Skill Signatures. This system was created by Chief Snake and we are very grateful for his contribution. You can read more about these signatures here.

See you next month!

Introducing Personal Skill Signatures

posted by Shane on 12 April 2012 at 03:03

In 2006 when RSBandB was still relatively young we had the idea to create a new type of signature, a signature that would be defined by the user who created it. The web technology didn't exist yet, we would've had to use something ugly like a Java Applet or Flash based application. The idea for this project went dormant until last year.

Last year Chief Snake came to us and suggested something similar. This was entirely possible with the advancement of the web technologies we use. That's what we're releasing today. A signature system that allows for a great deal of customization, making your signature truly personal.

Here's a sample:

You can create your own here: http://www.rsbandb.com/runescape-personal-signatures

During the signature creation process you can choose your signature layout, background, character image, fonts, and colours for your fonts. Feel free to experiment with your settings. If you find a colour scheme you use often you can save it for future use if you're logged into the forums.

This project was designed and implemented by Chief Snake before being turned over to us to integrate with our systems last month. We hope that you'll be able to find a signature that truly fits who you are. This is what #ShanesPictures on RuneWire was primarily for as well as updating the images our competition signatures use. We're also willing to take on new signature layouts and backgrounds submitted by you!

If you're an artist and have an idea please do send us some backgrounds and an icon layout or three. For more information on how to do this please send me a message. As of today we have three layouts (original P2P, F2P, and skiller) with a selection of backgrounds to choose from as well as an impressive selection of character images. You're also able to submit character images, more information will be made available on how to do this in the coming days.

Once again we hope you enjoy this new type of signature. We also should say thank you to everyone who submitted images for #ShanesPictures. Thanks also go to the content crew for cutting out these images. Of course once again the biggest thanks you must go out to Chief Snake for creating this impressive tool!

Thanks Brad :D!
